Pianist Tania Tachkova has been praised by critics for performances that are “white-hot” and “very impressive.” She has appeared as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician throughout the United States and in Europe at venues such as the Wiener Saal at Mozarteum (Austria), Centro de Bellas Artes and Museo del Arte (Puerto Rico), Harris Hall (Aspen), Sarasota Opera House (Sarasota), the National Palace of Culture and the Great Bulgaria Hall (Bulgaria). She has been featured as a soloist with the Orchestra of the State Academy of Music (Sofia), Shoumen Philharmonic, Razgrad Philharmonic, and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been broadcast on radio and television, including WQXR, WITF, and Bulgarian National Television. Her CD “Song to My Love” with bassoonist Maria Wildhaber was released on MSR records and was critically acclaimed as “fantastic release” and “highly recommended”. Their second CD will be released in the summer of 2014 and will include rarely recorded works for bassoon and piano by eastern european composers.
